Williamsburg scene architect Jezebel Music announces the kick-off of the "Ballroom Parties," a monthly concert series, held in Manhattan at the Prince George Ballroom, to raise money and awareness for the efforts of Common Ground, whose mission is to solve homelessness. Specifically, monies raised by this event will go to Common Ground’s Green Initiative, which encourages eco-friendly design elements and strategies in building affordable housing.

Three of the five bands, Hula, Leah Siegel, and Lowry are past Jezebel Music Monthly Features and one will be an upcoming Feature in September – The Inlets. Lewis and Clark, a Philly-based band, and The Inlets have both recently received accolades in Pitchforkmedia.com. An eclectic line-up of indie-rock, folk, and even cabaret, the NYC-based performing bands have all developed loyal followings across New York City.

The event is designed to raise awareness and funds for MSKCC’s Cancer Survivorship Initiative. After the run/walk, attendees can enjoy signature dishes from acclaimed New York restaurants. In addition to the brunch, other attractions include: A Survivorship Tent, A Cool Down Lounge, and A Kids’ Zone where children and their parents can express themselves by participating in various fun, hands-on activities. All proceeds from Memorial Sloan-Kettering’s Rock and Run on the River will benefit the Center’s Survivorship Program.
